East London Christmas Design Market

East London Christmas Design Market is back with host Knitwear Designers Chezzle and V Louise alongside other up and coming Designers and Artists. It will be taking place on Sunday 7th December 11:00am - 5:30 pm at Rich Mix 35 - 47 Bethnal Green Road, London, E1 6LA . For more information check out Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=28937734521 and Myspace events page and www.chezzle.co.uk.

Myself and a friend, Victoria Nicholls, have set up this market as an affordable platform for up and coming designers and artists to sell and promote their work. This is the second year running and we have stalls across clothing, accessories, toys, homewares, gifts and greetings cards.

the Star and Shadow Market

An art, craft & flea market on the 30th November from 11am - 4pm in the Star and Shadow Cinema, Ouseburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
There will be 20 stalls offering a diverse range of goods from craft sellers and second hand traders. There will be vintage bargains up for grabs alongside handcrafted jewellery, clothing, illustrations and photography, second hand music and books.
A few of the sellers we will have this time are:
Thunderheart - illustrations from Leigh Pearson
Stella My Star - handmade and vintage jewellery
Black Flame Books - second hand and hard to find books
Alan Edge - music promoter selling 2nd hand and rare vinyl
Doris Illustrated - handmade accessories
My design Made - bespoke t-shirts, accessories.
and loads more

We will also have some live music from ' Dirty Diamonds', and the bar will be open for hot and cold drinks and cake.
Money generated from stall hire will go to the upkeep of the voluntary run Star and Shadow Cinema.

This market will also be run alongside the Ouseburn Open Studios event, so there should be a free bus which will run from the city centre. Otherwise the venue is only a few minutes walk from Manors metro station, along New Bridge Street towards Byker.
The venue is wheelchair friendly and of course the event is free entry to the public.

So a little bit about the venue...
It's at the Wanstead United Reform Church main hall. It has it's own entrance, wooden floors and...heating!
Wanstead is a very nice part of town and the venue is located off the High Street between two tube stations so getting there should be easy!
It's a very chi chi part of town with quite an affluent population so here's hoping we can all sell a few more bits for Christmas and shower all those lovely shoppers with gorgeous hand made loveliness! I'll e mail all details, stall prices, relevant details etc. very soon and sorry that it's taken a while but the D.I.Y. craft nights have grown into a fun and fab event but taken a bit of time and planning!

Christmas BUST magazine is bringing its unique, alternative take on a craft fair to London and we are currently looking for the hottest UK makers to take part in this exciting event taking place on December 6 at St Aloysius Social Club. It would be great if you could post this up on your blog!
Yep, so it's a Craftacular! That’s a shopping bonanza running from 12pm until 11pm at St Aloysius Social Club in Euston, London, featuring crafters, classes, DJs, drinks and dancing. Down a pint as you learn to cross-stitch and work through your Christmas shopping list as you browse through hundreds of the best in handmade gifts and winter wares, from handbags and ornaments to jewelry and cards…

We have just opened the call for vendors and the deadline for applications is November 14, so get on it! Stalls cost £45 for a table approx. 150cm by 75cm.

To apply and for further info, please see this page:

Glasgow Craft Mafia Indie Markets

Information SENT by Carrie Maclennan, about the GLASGOW CRAFT MAFIA INDIE MARKET
__________________________________________________________________________________

The Glasgow Craft Mafia Indie Market

Hillhead Library, Byres Road, Glasgow

Saturday 15th March, 2008

MORE INFO: www.glasgowcraftmafia.com

Following the success of last year's festive Indie Markets, the Glasgow Craft Mafia are excited to announce details of their springtime market event. Taking place on Saturday 15th March at Hillhead Library (Byres Road, Glasgow), the plucky collective of independent designers and makers will provide Glasgow's stylish, savvy shoppers with all the quirky handmade one-offs necessary to overhaul and revamp just about anything in time for spring!

This talented group of Glasgow based artists, makers & designers sell a range of unique, handmade products; from glassware, art & vintage inspired homewares; to bespoke jewellery, fashion accessories & luxurious bath products. Every treasure unearthed at the Glasgow Craft Mafia Indie Market is lovingly created by hand and embraces inventive methods of twisting & reworking traditional craft. With the current growing concerns of waste and recycling, buying handmade is becoming more and more popular. There's never been a better time to support your local crafters.

Proving that easy to find and affordable alternatives to high street chains and fast fashion do exist and proving that Ebay is not the be all and end all when it comes to searching out unique bargains, the Glasgow Craft Mafia challenge the preconceptions of craft and rid pastimes such as knitting, cross-stitch and embroidery of their stuffy W.I connotations! Set on promoting new-wave craft, DIY ethics and bona fide handcrafted work, the Glasgow Craft Mafia is working hard during 2008 to protect grassroots culture and independent creative businesses.

Hop along to Hillhead Library on Saturday 15th March between 10.30am-4pm to find out for yourself that a fresh & contemporary spring has sprung!
